Level Information
Toddler Programs
A & B classes of our most popular toddler programs are the same level and age groups, offered twice weekly and therefore denoted by A & B (no level or age difference)
Toddler Twirl is for children ages 2-3 that want to enroll in an intro to ballet & tap class! *Your Twirl Pack is billed at time of registration, $25 Kinder Twirl is for children ages 4-5 that are looking to continue learning the basics of ballet & tap, and are not yet ready for our Level 1 classes! *Your Twirl Pack is billed at the time of registration, $25 Toddler Tumble Twirl is for children ages 2, 3 & 4 that want to enroll in an intro to acrobatics and tumbling class! Age 4 toddlers with approval can enroll in an Acro 1 class. *Your Twirl Pack is billed at time of registration, $25 All of our Twirl Packs include a book, ribbon and certificate for each child! Note that Twirl Packs (Lilac for Toddler Tumble, Pink for Toddler Twirl and Yellow for Kinder Twirl) remain the same both sessions. Therefore returning dancers who already purchased the appropriate color Twirl Pack in a previous session do NOT need to re-purchase, pending they have the appropriate color pack already! All of our Toddler classes are student only classes- meaning dancers are expected to be able to participate in the class without their parent present! Although we understand the first few weeks may be an adjustment, the end goal is go get students dancing on their own with our teachers & assistants! Please be prepared to exit the dance studio if our staff feels your dancer is ready! Dance ClassesJazz/Lyrical 1 is for dancers ages 5-8
Jazz/Lyrical 2 is for dancers ages 9+ Lyrical Teams, Contemporary Teams & Jazz Teams are our competitive teams, by invite only Tap 1 is for students ages 6-7 Tap 2 is for intermediate level Tap Dancers, by teacher recommendation only, typically ages 7-9 Tap 3 is for advanced intermediate level Tap Dancers, by teacher approval only, typically ages 9+ Mini, Senior & Elite Tap Teams are our advanced competitive tap teams, by invite only Hip Hop 1 is for ages 5-7 Hip Hop 2 is for ages 8-10 Hip Hop 3 is for ages 11 & Up Boys Hip Hop is for ages 5 & up, BOYS ONLY Hip Hop Teams are our competitive level hip hop crew, by invitation only Leaps & Turns Is an optional class for recreational & competitive students ages 6 & up that would like to improve their technique in relation to leaps and turns. This is a technique class only, no showcase routine! Level 1- Ages 6-9 Level 2- Ages 10+ no fouettés Level 3- Ages 11+ with fouettés Contemporary 2/3 Is for dancers who wish to explore contemporary dance at a recreational level, ages 7+. This class should be partnered with ballet, leaps & turns OR jazz. Acting & Musical Theater Join Miss. Katie as you explore using expression through dance, including choreography to some of the greatest Broadway musical productions of all time! Our open level Acting & Musical Theater Dance class being offered in the fall is the perfect introductory experience for children looking to learn more about the wonderful world of theater!

Our Acro Leveling System
At SASD, all acrobatics students receive a "Goals Rubric" within each level. This rubric provides a set of goals they must achieve in order to move up to the next level in acrobatics. These goals focus on 5 areas of training- Flexibility, Strength, Balance, Limbering & Tumbling. Because of this, all acrobatic class placement MUST go through Miss. Gabby- for new & returning students! It is vital that we place your acrobat in the correct class, so that they can flourish and move up our leveling system correctly! SAFETY IS OUR MAIN PRIORITY! Level 1 Acro: for children ages 4-7 years old that are still working on learning and perfecting the basics of acrobatics. They have not yet completed their Acro 1 Rubric! Age 4 students can enroll in this class with permission from Miss. Gabby. Level 2 Acro: for children ages 5-7 that have completed the Acro 1 Rubric OR NEW Acrobats ages 8-10. Level 3 Acro: for children ages 7 & up that have completed the Acro 1 & 2 Rubrics OR new Acrobats ages 11 & up. Level 4 Acro: intended for children who have all skills required for levels 1, 2 & 3 AND have a back-handspring without a spot on the floor. Advanced level skills including aerials and tucks are our focus in this class. Level 5-8: Competitive Level Acro Teams, by invitation only. * Acro 1, 2 & 3 are offered 2 times each week to accommodate growing class size! Students that fit these levels are welcome to enroll in both classes each week if they would like to advance at a more accelerated pace! Irish Step DanceNo previous experience needed for each level!
Level 1/2 is for Ages 3-6 Level 3 is for ages 7 & up, placed in the advanced level by Miss. Hali Hard Shoe is an add on class option that can be enrolled by any Level 1/2 or 3 student! *students enrolled in a hardshoe class must also enroll in and Irish Step class. BalletBallet 1 is for ages 6 & 7 (Age 5 by approval only)
Ballet 2 is an intermediate beginner level class for ages 6-8 or mini ballet company members. Ages 6 & 7 must get approval to enroll in this level! Ballet 3 is for ages 8-10 OR upper level mini ballet company members Ballet 4 is for dancers age 11+ Mini, Junior and Senior Ballet Company are our competitive ballet teams by invite only! Parkour & TrickingA/1 is for ages 5-8
B/2 is for ages 9+ Cheer & Dance
Join Coach Becky as she introduces the foundations of cheer to students ages 6-12! Students will learn jumps, introductory tumbling, dance for cheer and basic, low level, stunting throughout the Spring Session.
Cheer & Dance is for ages 6+ Gym & TumblePre-Nastics- Intro to tumble & gym for ages 2 & 3 WITH PARENT! This is an adult & me style class!
Tumble & Gym Stars 1- Intro to tumble & gym for ages 4-5 Tumble & Gym Stars 2- Intermediate Level for ages 6 + or younger with teacher approval |

If at any point during the session your wish to un-enroll your child, you must contact us via email at [email protected] to do so. The un-enrollment date without penalty for the spring session is March 1st. After March 1st, you can still un-enroll your child but will be responsible for the remaining session tuition, as we can no longer fill your dancers spot in class at this time. All fees paid to SASD are non-refundable.
